  1. Many students but not all procrastinate at UTRGV, they state procrastination helps them get their work done. In the Cooperative Pharmacy Program the students procrastinate but claim it is a bad act to engage in, if procrastination is bad then why do the students still engage in it?

    1. I like your question, but I recommend doing more questioning and less explaining; save the explanations for the actual essay/response. My recommendation would be rephrasing it like this:

In the UTRGV Cooperative Pharmacy Program, students that procrastinate claim it is a bad act to engage in, but still do it. If procrastination is bad then why do the students still engage in it?

Our questions are similar in the way that it focuses on students, but has more differences than similarities; I talk about transition while you take about procrastination. Hope that helps.

    2. Like Oscar said, let's clarify your question: How/why do students in UTRGV's Cooperative Pharmacy Program procrasinate? What do they know about this construct, and what strategies should this group develop in order to overcome this obstacle?

    1. I like your how you got your research question from your own personal experiences, i can relate pretty good to your topic too because i also played football in high school. Most of the high school students not only procrastinate in study, but also high school football, so i think it is a pretty interesting topic to research about.

What methods/spaces yield the most success? What methods/spaces yield the least success? What study strategies should this group develop in order to be successful?

    1. I like how you are not only focusing on the creativeness but also the rhetorical side of street art. I feel like you could improve this question by actually adding in a specific type of audience. We both focus on how our interests can help someone. For example, I'm talking about dance and how feedback helps the dancers become better. You're talking about art and how it helps the spectator understand the meaning behind it.

What are some of the most significant reasons that non-artists should be aware of the rhetorical elements of street art?

    1. I liked your research question because I can relate to it. You can improve your question by instead of saying "why do many students procrastinate?" you can state a certain group of students with the same major or some athletes on campus whom say they procrastinate. Our questions are somewhat similar because my construct as well is procrastination.

    2. I like your question because it's something that all students can relate to. Procrastination is something that can be tied into many things aside from school work. I feel like you can improve your question by asking how does procrastination connect the student to their work? What are the positive/negative effects of procrastination?
      -Anna Gonzalez

    3. I like this question because it is relateable to us as college students. Most of us procrastinate because either they completely forget about an assignment or they dislike it and does not put the assignment into the right priority. Procrastinating affect students mentally and physically because it drains them. Mentally , they get over stressed when they didn't have to get to that extent. Physically may be when because there's a lack of sleep or the side effects of mentally drained. I think that you can improve your question by asking specifically on what does the student procrastinate. - Noe Garcia

It is all a new environment and a person just needs adapt.

I like your question because my first language was spanish and when I moved here it was very difficult for me, but when I learned English I found it as a big advantage since I was able to communicate with more people. I think that students that just moved from Mexico to go to college are struggling since the professors expect us to already know English.

    1. Good, but I still think you need to preface this scenario with info from Rose's article, like I mentioned in previous post. Trick is to be specific, like this: According to Mike Rose in "Rigid Rules," student writers suffer from "writer's block" due to rules they impose on themselves. Among students in my ENGL 1301 class, what are some of the rules my classmates impose on themselves? What is the impact of these rules on my classmates, and what strategies should they develop in order to overcome these rules?

    1. I am interested about your question because it will give an inside view to the thought process that music artists go through to make a song that many people can relate to. What you can do to try to improve your question is maybe use a selective group of major students to see how it might help them. Well overall your question is different than mine but there are a bit of similarities like how in both of our questions we are looking for specific strategies. Either way I'm sure both of our constructs will help develop great research.
